The University of Alabama, in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), is pleased to announce the In-Space Manufacturing Workshop to be held in Tuscaloosa at the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus September 28 - 29, 2020.
The Workshop will focus on the advanced materials and manufacturing processes for in-space and lunar surface capabilities that are critical to the success of NASA’s plan for sustained lunar exploration and development. Together with other government agencies, academic and commercial partners we are seeking to identify significant technical challenges and accelerate the technology and innovation needed to achieve these ambitious missions, maintain leadership in science, manufacturing and technology and inspire a new generation in human space exploration.
The Workshop is intended for government, industry and academic thought leaders in the broad areas of advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, cyber-physical systems, space operations, value proposition, technology transfer, and workforce development. A special emphasis will be placed on building strong partnerships between universities, industry and government.
For attendees who register prior to September 1, there will be no charge for Workshop registration, lunches on September 28 and 29, and networking breaks and reception.
Additional information, including the full agenda, speakers and parking for the conference center will be updated soon. Please stay tuned.
