The purpose of the Office for Research Compliance (ORC) is to provide internal oversight on compliance relating to the performance of human and animal research, conflict of interest, scientific misconduct and export control. ORC emphasis is to ensure the rights and well being of human and animal subjects, ensure regulatory compliance, support our investigators and staff, protect the University and advance science. The Office for Research Compliance is apprising the research community of a recently enacted federal government pilot program entitled, “Pilot Program for Enhancement of Contractor Employee Whistleblower Protections (41 U.S.C. 4712)” (effective until January 17, 2017). The purpose of the Program is to provide protections for employees against reprisal for certain whistleblowing activities in relation to federal grants and contracts.
